Affidavit vs self declaration

What is the difference?

A self declaration is a signed statement by you. An affidavit is a statement sworn before a Notary, Oath Commissioner or Magistrate. Many offices accept only the sworn version, so check the requirement first.

Do I need stamp paper?

It varies by state, office and purpose. Some accept plain paper or a low-value stamp paper and some ask for a fixed amount. Ask the office before you print.

Is the generated draft legally valid?

It is a draft prepared from the facts you enter. It becomes valid only after you sign it and get it notarised or attested as required. This tool is not legal advice. Your data stays in your browser.
