How to Verify an Aadhaar eSign or DSC Signed PDF Online
A digital signature is not a picture of a signature. It is a cryptographic stamp stored inside the PDF that is tied to the exact content of the document. If even one character is changed after signing, the stamp no longer matches. This tool reads that stamp in your browser and tells you what it finds.
Check an e-Aadhaar or Aadhaar eSign PDF
Upload the PDF you downloaded from the UIDAI portal or from an eSign service. The tool shows the signer named in the certificate, the dates of the certificate and whether the file has been changed since it was signed.
Check a DSC signed PDF
Files signed with a DSC token, for example for GST, MCA or e-tender work, can be checked the same way. RSA and ECDSA signatures are supported.
Why Adobe can show "Signature validity unknown"
Adobe Reader can show this when the authority that issued the certificate is not in its trusted list. That is a trust setting, not proof that the file was changed. This tool does not check trust, but it does tell you whether the content is unchanged and who the certificate names as the signer.
Steps
- Choose or drop your signed PDF (Aadhaar eSign, DSC token, Adobe or similar).
- Wait a moment while each signature is checked.
- Read the result for every signature: signer, certificate dates, algorithm and status.
What the result means
- Valid: the signed content is unchanged and the signature matches the certificate.
- Invalid: the content or the signature was altered after signing.
- Verification report: after a check you can download a PDF report with the file hash, time of check and results. It is made on your device and is not an official certificate.
- Could not fully verify: the signature uses a method this tool cannot check, or extra content follows the signature.
What it cannot check
Browsers cannot reliably check whether a certificate comes from a trusted authority, whether it was revoked, or whether the signing time is genuine. For legal or official use, confirm the signature in a full PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat.
Frequently Asked Questions
Upload the PDF on this page. The tool finds the digital signature, shows the signer and certificate dates, and checks that the file was not changed after signing. For full trust confirmation, also use Adobe Acrobat Reader or the official UIDAI process.
Adobe shows this when it cannot match the issuing authority to its trusted list. It does not by itself mean the file was edited. This tool checks the content and the signature, but not trust.
Yes. PDFs signed with a DSC token that use RSA or ECDSA signatures can be checked. Other signature types are reported as could not fully verify.
No. The file is read in your browser and checked on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
No. This tool only runs the cryptographic check: it confirms the signed content is unchanged and the signature matches the certificate inside the file. It does not check whether the certificate comes from a trusted authority or has been revoked.
The PDF content no longer matches the hash that was signed. Someone edited the file after signing, or the file was damaged or re-saved by another program.
Some data is stored after the signed part. This can be a later signature, an edit, or validation data added for long-term validation. Check that the later changes are expected.
No. It is a record of the check made on your device, with the file hash and the time. Anyone can generate such a report, so it should not be used as proof of validity.
No. A picture of a signature is not a digital signature. The tool looks only for cryptographic signatures such as Aadhaar eSign, DSC token or Adobe signatures.
