Why Cost Per Day Is the Best Way to Compare Recharge Plans
Operators advertise plans by total price, data or OTT benefits, which makes plans of different validity hard to compare. A cheaper-looking ₹299 pack may cost more per day than a ₹719 pack. This calculator converts any plan to a daily, monthly and yearly cost so you can compare Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL plans on equal terms.
How to Use This Tool
- Enter the price and validity in days of Plan 1.
- Add Plan 2 and Plan 3 if you want to compare (optional).
- Click Calculate to see cost per day, per 30 days and per year.
- The cheapest plan is marked as the winner, with the yearly saving.
Formula Used
Cost Per Day = Plan Price ÷ Validity Days
Cost Per Year = Cost Per Day × 365
Cost Per Year = Cost Per Day × 365
Example: ₹299 for 28 days = ₹10.68 per day (₹3,898 a year). ₹719 for 84 days = ₹8.56 per day (₹3,124 a year). The longer plan saves about ₹774 a year.
Money-Saving Tips
- Long-validity plans (84 or 365 days) usually have the lowest cost per day.
- Do not pay for data you never use; if you have home WiFi, a 1GB/day plan is often enough.
- Check whether OTT apps bundled in a plan are ones you really use.
- Re-compare whenever your operator changes its tariffs.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Is the cheapest plan always the best?
Not always. Cost per day ignores data, calls and OTT benefits, so compare those too if they matter to you.
2. Can I use this for DTH or broadband?
Yes. Any plan with a price and validity in days works the same way.
3. Why show the yearly cost?
It makes the saving easy to see. A small daily difference becomes hundreds of rupees over a year.
