How to Check Your SSC Result
Unlike school board results, most SSC results are published as a PDF list of roll numbers (not an individual name-and-marks lookup), so the process is a little different:
- Open the official SSC portal and go to the "Results" section.
- Find the notice for your specific exam and tier (for example, "CGL 2026 Tier-1 Result").
- Open the linked PDF - it lists the roll numbers of candidates who qualified.
- Use your browser or PDF reader's Find/Search (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) function and type your roll number to locate it quickly instead of scrolling through thousands of entries.
- Some exams also publish an individual scorecard separately on the candidate login/portal - check both the PDF list and your candidate login.
SSC Exams Are Multi-Tier
Most SSC exams (like CGL and CHSL) are conducted in multiple tiers or stages - for example, a Tier-1 computer-based test followed by a Tier-2 test, and sometimes a skill or typing test after that. Each tier has its own separate result, released on its own date, so make sure you're checking the result for the correct tier of your exam.
Answer Key and Objection Window
Before the final result, SSC typically publishes a provisional answer key and opens a short window (often a few days) during which candidates can raise objections to specific questions, usually for a small fee per objection. The final result reflects any changes made after this review. Check the official portal's notice board for the exact objection window dates for your exam.
Regional SSC Offices
SSC conducts exams through several regional offices across India (Northern, Southern, Western, Central, Eastern, North Eastern, and others), and some region-specific notices or results may be published on the relevant regional office's website in addition to the main national portal. If you can't find your result on the main site, check whether your exam center falls under a specific regional office and look for that office's own website.
If the Official Site Won't Load
On result day, official servers receive an extremely high volume of traffic in a short window, so slow loading or timeouts are common. A few things that help:
- Try again a little later, once the initial traffic spike has passed.
- Download the PDF result list rather than repeatedly refreshing the page.
- Check your candidate login/dashboard separately, since it sometimes loads faster than the public results page.
